Enocean Nodon temperature

Beitrag von pollux21 » 17.10.2021, 21:05

Hi all,

First of all, sorry but my german is too bad for me to try describing my problem. I have a problem with Encoean Nodon temperature sensors (EEP A5-02-05). When I do teach-in for it, the ID remains at 0 for every sensor I register. After that, the temperature always remains at 0 in CCU.

I also have an Encoean temperature sensor with the same EEP and it seems to be working correctly.

For the record, here is what I get in the terminal log for such a device:

21:04:38 [ttyUSB0] --> 01|352093ADF4C507DDA094EA02BCD87805820A2E00|01FFFFFFFF3100
21:04:38 [ttyUSB0] --> 01|356047B95FECA3C33005820A2E00|01FFFFFFFF3100
21:04:38 [ttyUSB0] --> 01|319E42A6EDE3DAFFF74D05820A2E00|01FFFFFFFF3100

Any idea to help here ?

Gruss

i think it is a A5-04-01 -> Thermo/Hygro

as you can see: https://www.piotek.de/Temperatur-Feucht ... n-0-to-40C

Both types exist and I am pretty sure I have temperature sensor only (shown here https://www.piotek.de/Temperatur-Sensor-innen-0-to-40C)

ok .... i have testet now the only T Sensor

all OK ... 19,6°

so:

you have actual CUXD Version ?
the Nodon is enough loaded via Solar or has a battery ?

My Data
11:40:18 [ttyUSB0] --> 01|A5000082080590226F00|01FFFFFFFF3A00

Your Data

21:04:38 [ttyUSB0] --> 01|356047B95FECA3C33005820A2E00|01FFFFFFFF3100

may be your Gateway is not ok ... Which one you have ?
Send also a screenshot from CUXD start site

Thanks for the help !

I have CUXD version 2.6.1 (latest) installed with a CCU3 and a USB300 Enocean module.

The Nodon module should have enough battery as it is placed in full light. What is odd is that the ID of every learnt module is equal to 0. This might be related to a bad teach in (as indicated in the CuXD message that can be accessed https://drive.infomaniak.com/app/share/ ... 8cd32c406e. I might be doing the teaching wrong somehow ?

The 2 telegrams starting with 35 are AES engrypted secure Teach-In telegrams SEC_TI from your sensor with the address 05820A2E. The 3rd telegram starting with 31 is a secure message SEC_ENCAPS from the sensor.
A full description of the EnOcean security concept you can find here: https://www.enocean-alliance.org/wp-con ... s-v2_5.pdf

I have no idea how you can activate/deactivate encryption on your sensor, but CUxD doesn't support secure EnOcean communication yet.

Greetings,

Uwe

Hi Uwe,

Thanks for the information, that put me in the right direction. After some digging, it turn outs some of the Nodon sensors I have have SEC enabled and others don't (I have 8 of them and 2 have security disabled).

I found some information regarding the STM331 EnOcean modules (which are used pretty much everywhere a solar cell is used with a temperature measurement in EnOcean) and they support both secure and standard mode. I also found a state diagram which explains how to switch with the learn button from one mode to another but Nodon has changed the feature a bit in the firmware. I had to press the LRN button for 15 seconds to switch to non secure mode. Now everything is working as expected ! Thank you for your help.

However, maybe implementing secure transmissions might be an option here, what do you think ? I could gladly help if needed.

Regards

Wow ! i talked with Uwe and we can't read anything in the manuals to use a secure mode
also the "15s press LRN" i can't read

Have you some links or infos for this ?

Basically, the Nodon temperature node is simply an Enocean STM331 module with a nice casing.

The information about the mode state machine is the STM331 / STM330 user manual (which can be found here https://www.enocean.com/en/products/eno ... anual-pdf/ (chapter 3.1, page 15).

However, as stated, long press is considered from 3 to 7 seconds in the manual whereas, for the Nodon, I had to press it for ~15 secs until I got a normal 4BS telegram. So there is a difference in the state machine but I did not really digged further, as it is working.

Cheers
