Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
Hello,
Does anyone have any idea if there is any possibility to select what devices to upgrade and what not? I received a firmware update available notification in the CCU so I downloaded it and started the upgrade. The problem is that I have lots of devices of this type around 25 and the upgrade already took more then 3 weeks and still none of the devices is ready to install it. Some of the devices also drained the batteries cause of this.
I would like if possible to allow only few devices to be upgraded at a time so it would go faster but don't know if this can be done or even if it's possible.
Thank you in advance for the help. Appreciated

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
There is no "normal" way to have an influence which device will get the update.
Greetings
Bruno
You can take the battery out on 24 devices, so the reachable one will be updated (8 to 42 hours, time universe from eq-3) ... and so on. Or using the way over an access point. Both ways not really practicable.

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
Thank you for the reply. I understand what you say but it's really a nasty way of doing things. This should be a must in multi device setup but ok.
I also have an access point but don't see why it would go faster with the access point instead of the CCU.
By the way, is the battery dies in a device and it's replaced, would he continue from where it was or will it start from 0 again?

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
I don't know why the batteries run out so quickly, i didn't notice it when updating my devices. But I don't track the battery level.
Perhaps eq-3 can help you. Maybe they know a better way.
I can't answer this point.samuellazea hat geschrieben: ↑29.09.2022, 10:26would he continue from where it was or will it start from 0 again?
Probably not faster, but if only one device is moved from CCU to HAP and updated at a time, it is more targeted. But it's a very complicated way.I also have an access point but don't see why it would go faster with the access point instead of the CCU.

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
Hi @ll,
I have more or less the same issue with a ccu3 and currently 54 devices that wouldn’t get the latest firmware’s.
The interesting point is that the Dute-Cycel stays permanently at 41%.
Hopefully someone is having a nice idea;)
Thanks in advance

I couldn't find any way to do it properly. Currently waiting for 15 thermostats to upgrade for few months already and still no joy

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
There must me something else that blocks your rf.
I've updated my 13 FRoll last week. First where ready after 2 days, 4 days after uploading the Firmware to the CCU the last one was done.
How high is your DC withount updates?

And be advised, that every reboot of the CCU and (afaik) every reboot of a device restarts the transfer from the beginning.

Re: Firmware upgrade, select devices to upgrade
I am still waiting on the thermostats to update even after at least 3 months. As for RF, I don't think anything is blocking cause I check a spectrum analyzer on sub ghz frequencies, and beside the homematic frequency I only have the windows blinds ( rollers ) and those are triggered twice a day. Nothing more.
So I am kind of frustrated of this plus the batteries from the thermostats are draining quite fast because of this. Also my CCU is not rebooting for months so I don't know what is going on
