CCU 3 boiler on/off per room

Beitrag von denvansanten » 20.01.2025, 19:32

Hello,

I have the homematic CCU3 and installed the following components:
- each room has a wall thermostat
- downstairs i have 4 rooms with floor heating, with the HmIP-FAL230-C10 floor heating module (with 12 zones installed with a motorized valve on it)
- upstairs i have 5 rooms with a wall thermostat and a radiator valve
- the boiler is hooked up to a WHS2 switching module

All i want is the boiler to switch on when there is heat demand, and switch off the boiler when there's not.

I used groups for each room:
-downstairs -> each group has the wall thermostat and the corresponding floor zones in it
-upstars -> each group has the wall thermostat and the radiator valve in it.

i'm a bit lost on how to properly set the WHS 2 to switch the boiler automatically whenever there is heat demand.
I made a program in the ccu3 that whenever upstairs the valve of any room is opened more then 10% -> switch output WHS2 to on. Is this the correct way?

Downstairs i don't know how to get this result with the floor actuators? Also the living room has 5 zones of the floor heating in a group. But sometimes, some of these are open while others are closed so parts of the floor are warm, while other parts stay cooler.

Any help guiding me in the right direction is much appreciated. If i need to provide more info, let me know.
Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you have made individual heating groups for every room, so for the living room there is a heating group containing the wall thermostat together with all 5 zones?

Just asking because some people coming from the HAP are used to put them in a "room", which has no direct function other than logical grouping on a CCU, opposing to a HAP, where it effects the group building, so the CCU heating group equivalent.

Afaik then the zones for the same room should be regulated to the same level. The hydraulic balancing to compensate for differences in length of the individual zones should have been regulated before by the installer.

If the FAL230 has it, you might disable the automatic hydraulic balancing, as the effective function is uncertain and on FALMOT it led to some odd errors regarding valve level.

In the forum exist different solutions like reading all valve levels with a script and if any of them is higher than level x, then switch relay on, else off.

Thanks for this idea.
