Manually set radiator thermostat actuation - skip Ada

Beitrag von bx1000 » 21.01.2016, 22:22

Hello, I am using the HM-CC-RT-DN radiator thermostats and a CCU2. The problem I have is that my TRVs (an unusual Danfoss model) have a fairly stiff pin that needs to be pushed in for them to close and not heat. The HM-CC-RT-DN has enough strength to be able to push the pin in, and will often work fine. But, some times, and on some radiators, it does not fully depress the TRV pin, so unwanted heating occurs. I think the reason for this is that when the HM-CC-RT-DN is first installed and it goes through the Ins/Ada to set the limits of actuation, it is encountering the stiff pin and setting its limit too low, so it presses in the pin but not quite far enough, even when the HM-CC-RT-DN is set to OFF. Is there a way to skip the Ada cycle and instead manually program the HM-CC-RT-DN how far to depress the TRV pin?

Thank you.

I had a similar situation on the ground floor, in the end I just replaced the valve on the heater with a type with a lower spring load.
