new installation shopping list assistance required

Beitrag von simonmac2 » 19.08.2016, 13:58

i currently have a typical uk semi with 8 manual radiator trv's (myson)

I want to be able to control them centrally setting a temp at each, and scheduled on/off times

The homematic appears to be able to do this relatively economically.

I think I need: the ccu2 as the controller, and 8 of the EHT classic N radiator controllers (although I am not sure if I need to replace the whole valve or not - advice please?

on top of that I'd like to get some smoke alarms and tie them all together.

I'm fairly techy, so the CCU piece doesn't concern me, but the plumbing.....

at some point in the future, I'd like to get a boiler controller.

my only other concern is RE the protocols used by the radiator controllers - are they able to "speak" to other systems if necessary? or are they tied to the homematic system

reichelt seem to have everything and for £245 can get the controller, radiator controllers and 2 smoke alarms.

am I missing anything essential?

TIA

Simon

Hi,

real plumbing shouldn'T be neccasary. normaly you buy the controller and if needed an valve adapter.

The CCU is easy to set up but i am not shure how good the english interface is (i always use the German)

The CCU is able to ''speak'' with other stuff but you need extra software, for that oint i am not the expert.

cheers

Daniel

Note that EHT Classi N is NOT compatible with Homematic. You need these TRV's instead: http://www.reichelt.de/HomeMatic-Actors ... r=HM+FHT+2

You dont need to replace the radiator valves; above listed radiator controllers do include few types of valve adaptors to adapt to various valve types. You may want to download the manual and compate with your existing radiator valves.

No problems adding smoke detectors as long as you use Homematic smoke detectors: http://www.reichelt.de/HomeMatic-Sensor ... =HM+131408

hi all - thanks for the assistance. I went ahead and ordered the ccu2, and 4 of the homematic radiator controllers...

I think i have got in to the realm of needing a plumber though.....

the current myson radiator controller is slightly smaller than the homematic (i am making a guess of imperial vs metric here and presuming the inner dia is 30 mm on one but the current one is about 28mm internal dia.)

(1) do i need to get the valve replaced with a proper metric one?
(2) have i ordered the wrong controllers?

Thanks

Simon

I think you bought the right one....

take a look at the following site: http://www.elv.at/suchergebnis.html/rol ... ungsventil

it is my favourite shop, but its only in german so searched for the adapters i mentioned, you should be able to understand the informations there.
but i am not shure where to buy them in GB

You just need the appropriate adaptor to fit the new Homematic TRV Head into existing Myson Valve.
The following adaptor would probably fit:

first off - thanks to all who have responded - i willl summarise everything once i'm done for the next EN only newbie. I found a couple of my radiators with 30mm valves, so have attached them to the system and configured fairly easily (bit clunky as far as UI goes... but better than anything i could code....)

loving the extensibility of this so much, have got a couple of plug outlet switches from ehomeportal (as they had UK plugs variety) so can't wait for them.

my next question is around the homematic door locks - i couldn't see any installation documentation, and they only mention "easy" and fits any lock. Do they work on standard uk locks (I am assuming - but have no idea) and oh do they install? I have a double glazed front door where the handle gets pulled up to lock in the double glazed door, before the key will tuen in the lock.

any advie etc

the homeamtic doorlocks are little bit special, the door should open without use the handle or draw the door... maybe you send some pictures?

pictures as requested...

the lock (manufacturer "CARL F"according to the plate)

The pictures are in sequence from open, to locking it. The door handle is raised which moves the internal pins in the double-glazed unit, to locking points in the frame. The key then turns the lock (as per a normal lock - which i assume just puts a pin across the internal door mechanism)

after unlocking with the key, the handle has to be fully pressed to reverse the locking pin mechanism

Ok i think that will not work the way its ment to be, it is for doors look like these: http://www.pw-internet.de/images/cms/schliessanlage.jpg

they can pull the doorhandle with the key so the Door has 3 functions closed open (but door shut) and open door (open itself).

may be you can make the first 2 functions but the barrel lock has to be some mm inside to mount the Key matik
