Mediola: When is default.png shown?

Hi Homematic fans,

I have yet another question to which I haven't found the answer in the forums:
I have a dimmer HM-PB-2-WM55-2 and I have the dimming status of this device shown in a remote I created with Mediola AIO Creator.
I have defined four icons to show the state of the lamp:
Lamp states.JPG
The state_0.png and state_100.png icons are shown when the dimming value is 0 resp. 100%. The undefined.png icon is shown when the remote cannot read the status, but also when the dimming value is somewhere between 0 and 100%.
I would like to have the default.png icon shown between 0 and 100%, but it seems not to work that way.

Can anyone tell when the default.png is shown?
Is there another way to show one icon for all values between 0 and 100%? (I can of course define 99 separate icons, but that seems a lot of work for such a simple thing)

Thanks in advance! Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

while selecting the icon, you have to set a state (status?) rule, like
0% -> state_0.png
1%-80% -> default.png
81%-100% -> state_100.png

...unless you want to create 101 different icons! :mrgreen:

The HM-PB-2-WM55 is not a dimmer, it's a push button transmitter.

Hi Roland,

That did the trick :-) Thanks for pointing me to the status rules.
I still wonder what the default.png is used for, since I read in a lot of posts that it is required, but am not able to actually display it on the remote. (except of course using a status rule that explicitly uses it)

You're ofcourse right about HM-PB-2-WM55 :oops: . I should have listed HM-LC-DIM1T-FM as the type description. The other is the button I use to control the dimmer...

Best regards, Stefan.

Nice to hear that! :)

I assume (!), it's just the appearence within the Creator Neo while developing the layout.
Most often it's the same icon as the "on" icon (light bulbs etc.).

since I read in a lot of posts that it is required,
Well, sometimes I'm lazy too and I don't create the undefined.png. Never experienced a problem...

I just got a reply in the Mediola Ratgeber Community (http://answers.mediola.com/2205558/What ... g-used-for):
The "default.png" image is only used in the CREATOR editor and image catalog to represent the status image set. In earlier CREATOR versions it was also a requirement or otherwise the status images could not be selected in the image catalog, but that is not the case anymore.
It is not used in the AIO REMOTE NEO at all.
So no need for "default.png" anymore. Personally, I like to have and "undefined.png" because I don't like those red triangles at all.
