Who controls whom: temperature sensor + radiator thermostat with ccu3

Beitrag von dmoseev » 27.01.2020, 08:28

Good morning smart home enthusiasts:

I just have installed in my new house a combination of radiator thermostats and temperature and humidity sensors from Homematic IP, they are controlled via CCU3 WebUI.

So far so good, I established directs between the corresponding device pairs and they manage to run weekly program successfully. However I noticed that both the thermostat's and sensor's weekly programs can be altered separately. So, the question is if I want to change the weekly program, for which device would I need to do it?

Thanks in advance for the replies,
Dmitry

Hello,

i recommend to delete all your (manually set up?) directs between the corresponding device pairs. Then you should set up a HmIP-Heating Group (Settings --> Groups --> New, choose Grouptype HmIP-Heating instead of HM-Heating) with your devices. After that you get a new Virtual Device. Only that Virtual Device should then be used to switch settings, profiles etc.

That is correct only for settings that is valid for all HMIP heating devices, right?

To original question: you really need to manipulate only with HMIP-WTH-2. If that is what you meant as "temperature and humidity sensor"

Good luck,
Sergo

Thanks for your reply!
OK, great, learned something new today. I'll try that tonight.

BTW, is there any good documentation to read on that CCU3/WebUI? I found only very limited information so far and mostly was guessing all the time. The access point was intuitevely clear and would have been enough for all my needs, however I don't want to be dependent on the internet connection which is not that stable sometimes and a cloud god only knows where.

I've three of HmIP-STH and one HMIP-WTH-2. So

Thanks, that answers me.

I only know the german WebUI_Handbuch_eQ-3. Maybe you can translate it.

radiator thermostats
What Models do you have? HmIP-eTRV-B maybe?

For every HmIP-Heating Group you can use only one "temperature and humidity sensor" (one HmIP-WTH-2 OR one HmIP-STH) and all of your (unknown) "radiator thermostats" in the same room. Because there can only be one "Master-Controller".

Thanks for the documentation link, helpful indeed. I can read German, writing is more of a problem. Although, reading almost 400 pages will take me while :)

Regarding the radiator thermostat, I've HMIP-eTRV-2.

Hi,

just to check - you know that there is an EN "user" translated WebUI manual here:
viewtopic.php?f=49&t=45485
Thank you Tomi, wasn't aware of that, it goes much better than the German version :)

Question: Should I change the header / topic name of the link with the EN WebUI manual to find it better/faster? If yes - to what?
